A Lesson in Every Quilt
This is a one-hour lecture where I show over 40 of my quilts and describe the lessons learned in making each quilt. Over half the quilts were made using the Quilt-As-You-Go method, but I also show other quilts and techniques I’ve tried over the years. I include a short video lesson on how to make a two-sided binding, and I will also show the ugliest quilt I’ve ever made and tell you about the lessons I learned!

Seminole Patchwork
May 9, 2026 at 7:00:00 PM
This is a technique class to learn the concepts of Seminole strip piecing. This technique was developed by the Seminole Indians of Florida in the early 1900s. Students will make 5-6 different Seminole designs in class. The Seminole designs look best with solids or fabrics that read as solids such as tone-on-tones or small prints. A striped fabric can be fun too, but large prints distract from the Seminole designs. The key to a successful Seminole band is contrast among the fabrics in the band. Students will receive instructions for 10 different Seminole designs plus a few variations. By the end of the class, students will have learned all the skills needed to piece all the designs.

This large block quilt has three layout options that will highlight your favorite layer cake or print fabrics.
Each over-sized block is quilted individually then joined together with a special sashing technique, commonly known as Quilt As You Go (QAYG).
This is a great way to quilt larger quilts in smaller, manageable sections. You will learn everything you need to complete your quilt.
