Block Party Quilters

The theme of the quilt show in October is ‘Branching Out’, which is also the focus of our member challenge.  Block Party Quilters are encouraged to enter the challenge with a quilt they created, showing they are branching out in their quilting repertoire.
Try Something New - Try a new technique, experiment with unusual fabrics or textures, incorporate some interesting objects or embellishments, use colors that are beyond your normal.  Maybe you’d like to try painting or dying some fabric to use in your challenge.  Most importantly, have fun with this challenge and try something new to you and branch out to something new in your quilting wheelhouse.  The design can be anything and does not require a branch. :)
Your Story – Please describe what was new to you and how you branched out in the story you write about your project.  Not every aspect of the quilt needs to be branching to something new but describe what is new to you.   Enter your quilt in the Challenge category of the quilt show entries.
Requirements - Your challenge entry should contain 3 layers, a top, batting and backing and include some quilting to hold the layers together.  The edges should be finished in some way with a binding, facing, or fused edging that is stitched in place. Please include a hanging sleeve.  The recommended size has the shortest side of 15” and the longest side of 24” which includes any size in between.   (Minimum size is 15” x 15” and maximum is 24” x 24”) Have fun, play, and enjoy the creative process by branching out a little or a lot.
